My Journey as a Solopreneur + Mom: Updates, Wins, and Big Scary Goals
Hey there, welcome to my personal journey blog section! I'm so excited to share with you my journey as a solopreneur + mom. If you're wondering what a solopreneur is, it's basically a business owner who works solo. That's right, I do everything by myself, from creating my website, to offering my services, to marketing my brand (and then being a mom too). It's a lot of work, but it's also a lot of fun!
In this blog post, I want to give you an update on what I've been up to in the past two weeks as I start my solopreneurship venture. It's been exhilarating and challenging, to say the least. There are moments where I'm so pumped about what I'm doing and the ideas coming my way, and then there are times when I have self-doubt and concerns about what the heck I'm doing. But I think that's normal for any entrepreneur, especially in the beginning stages.
It's important to me to be authentic throughout this whole journey, so I want to share with you my learnings, challenges, wins and big goals, so you can come along for the ride. Maybe you'll find some inspiration or tips for your own business, or maybe you'll just enjoy reading about my adventures. Either way, I appreciate your support and feedback!
Some of the big wins for me right now include:
Having my site mostly ready. I'm really proud of how it looks and how it showcases my personality and skills. I used Wix to create it, and it was super easy and fun. If you're looking for a platform to start your own online store or website, I highly recommend Wix.
Creating a consulting page so I can start offering services. As a solopreneur, one of the ways I make money is by providing consulting and coaching services to other learners who need help with their personal brand.
Getting a bit more organized with my process flow. One of the challenges of being a solopreneur is managing your time and tasks efficiently. You have to wear many hats and juggle many balls at once. That's why having a good system and tools to help you stay on track is crucial.
Doing my first live training (not perfect but learned a lot). My first live training was about how to use ChatGPT for a Resume Revamp. I had some technical issues and some nerves, but I also had some great engagement and feedback from the viewers.
Being a guest on my first podcast (so much fun). Another way I promote myself and network with other solopreneurs is by being a guest on podcasts that cater to my target market. Podcasts are a great way to showcase your expertise and personality, and reach new audiences who might not know about you otherwise. My first podcast appearance was on The One Marketing Thing Podcast on the topic "Breaking the Mold: Paving Your Own Way to Success and Fulfillment", cant wait to share it with you!
Doing some prep calls for my own podcast. Yes, you read that right. I'm launching my own podcast soon! I've already lined up some amazing guests for the first few episodes, and I can't wait to share them with you.
I have also been so grateful for everyone who has offered support and their own wisdom to help me build this up. It's amazing what can happen when you dive in. In terms of challenges, it's hard to make sure to focus on the right things and not get lost in the million things you can do. There is also a balance you have to strike between action and perfection when trying out ideas.
I do feel like each day I'm getting a bit more progress and I can't wait to get in a more productive flow with the regular trainings and podcasts happening.
Finally, I want to share with you my big scary goals for the next year, year and a half. These are the things that keep me motivated and inspired, even when things get tough. They are:
Get to a place where I can financially make this my main focus. Right now, I'm still working part-time as a freelancer to pay the bills, but I hope to eventually transition to full-time solopreneurship. My goal is to generate enough income from my consulting, coaching, digital products and affiliate marketing to support myself and my lifestyle.
Do a TED talk. This is something I've always dreamed of doing, and I think it would be an amazing opportunity to share my message and story with a wider audience. I have a lot of ideas for topics I could talk about but want to define it a bit more along the way.
Write a book. Another thing I've always wanted to do is write a book. I love writing, and I think it would be a great way to express myself and share my knowledge and experience with others. I'm not sure what kind of book I would write yet, but I'm leaning towards something that combines personal stories, practical tips and inspirational insights on solopreneurship.
So, these are my big goals for the next year or so. Let's see where this journey takes me. I hope you enjoyed reading this blog post, and I hope you'll stick around for more. Let me know what you think in the comments below, and feel free to share your own big, scary goals and how I can support you. Thanks for reading!
